Anuncios en el IGTV de Instagram 📺

¿Recordáis como hace poco comentábamos en nuestra Newsletter que Instagram se deshizo del botón de IGTV y del bajo porcentaje de personas que usaban esta funcionalidad y formato? Pues bien, Instagram parece que está lejos de rendirse y testea la implementación de anuncios en IGTV para poder monetizarlo de algún modo.

La pregunta que nos hacemos en AdsAccelerator es - ¿cómo pretenden monetizar una función que no es popular? Si os fijáis, lo que se ha hecho durante los últimos años en el panorama online es ofrecer un servicio de determinada utilidad de manera gratuita y a la mayor audiencia posible. Una vez la audiencia se ha subido a bordo y el servicio se ha hecho popular y más o menos irremplazable – hora de monetizar con anuncios. Instagram IGTV Ads 📺

Remember how recently we commented in our Newsletter that Instagram got rid of the IGTV button and the low percentage of people who used this functionality and format? Well, Instagram seems to be far from giving up and is testing the implementation of ads on IGTV to be able to monetize it.

The question we ask ourselves in AdsAccelerator is - how do they intend to monetize a function that is not popular? If you look at what has been doing during the last years in the online panorama is offering a service of certain utility for free and to the widest possible audience. Once the audience has risen and the service has become popular and more or less irreplaceable - time to monetize with ads. It is a fully understandable business model since after all these companies are not an NGO ... but introducing ads in a service that hasn’t even taken off? The truth is that, right now, it does not seem a promising placement for our ads.

Of course, on Instagram, they know this perfectly...

Facebook stops it's ad placement implementation on WhatsApp â›”

That Facebook has been thinking about using WhatsApp to set up new windows for ads for a while now, is not a secret. For those who have not yet heard the news, Facebook bought WhatsApp in 2014 for 22 billion dollars. Although considerable time has passed, the Facebook logo has begun to appear when WhatsApp started recently and if some of you wondered why now you know. Those who already knew about this transaction were probably asking the same question that we ask ourselves in AdsAccelerator: seeing the number of placements that have been mounted on Instagram, Messenger App and Facebook itself, as WhatsApp has not yet been addressed?

Apparently, there was very little left for it, so little that there was a team that was already creating prototypes. What happened? Facebook has decided to back down and not only has disassembled the team that was working on the implementation of ads on WhatsApp - they have eliminated the work that this team had done so far.
